Who I am
This website is run by Ria E. Peake, who provides mind–body work and coaching under the name The Deep End. In this notice, “I”, “me” and “my” mean Ria E. Peake. I am the data controller for the personal information collected through this website, which means I decide how and why it is used.
If you have any questions about this notice or how your information is handled, please email me at [EMAIL ADDRESS].
What information I collect
When you use the contact form on this website, I collect:
- your name
- your email address
- your contact number
- your age
- the service you’re interested in
- anything you choose to include in your message
Please don’t include sensitive details, such as information about your physical or mental health, in the contact form. If we go on to work together, we can talk about anything relevant privately and securely.
When you visit the website, the hosting and font providers listed below may also automatically process technical information such as your IP address and browser type. This is needed to deliver the website to you securely.
How I use your information
I use the information you send me to:
- reply to your enquiry and answer your questions
- arrange an introductory call or session, if you ask for one
- make sure my services are suitable for you, which is why I ask for your age
I will not use your details for marketing, add you to a mailing list without your clear permission, or sell or share your information with anyone for their own purposes.
My legal basis for using your information
Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), I must have a lawful reason to use your personal information. I rely on:
- Steps before entering into a contract: when you contact me about working together, I need your details to respond and to arrange services.
- Legitimate interests: to reply to general enquiries and run my practice in a reasonable way that you would expect.
Who I share your information with
I use a small number of trusted service providers to run this website. They only process your information on my behalf and under my instructions:
- Formspree, which receives contact form submissions and forwards them to my email.
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website.
- Google Fonts, which provides the typefaces used on this website.
Some of these providers are based in, or store data in, the United States. Where your information is transferred outside the UK, it is protected by appropriate safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK–US data bridge.
I will only share your information with anyone else if I am required to by law.
How long I keep your information
If you make an enquiry but we don’t go on to work together, I will delete your details within [12 months] of our last contact. If you become a client, your information will be kept in line with my client records policy, which I will explain to you at the start of our work together.
Keeping your information safe
This website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. I keep your information in password-protected accounts and only use it for the purposes described in this notice.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and does not track you across other websites. Any small technical files used by the services above are only there to make the website and contact form work.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information I hold about you
- ask me to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- ask me to delete your information
- object to, or ask me to restrict, how I use your information
- ask for your information to be transferred to someone else
To use any of these rights, email me at [EMAIL ADDRESS]. You won’t usually have to pay, and I will respond within one month.
Making a complaint
If you have concerns about how I have handled your information, please contact me first so I can try to put things right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
